"Basilio Danzas de España"

Basilio Muños Mora (1934-2015) has shown the art of the dances of Spain around the world for nearly five decades. He was born and studied in Madrid, and from a very young age he created a variety of dance performances culminating with him becoming part of the legendary Ballet de Antonio. However, he soon created his own company with which he travelled throughout Spain, America and Europe. In 1974, he moved to the Netherlands, where he earned a degree in teaching from the Conservatory of Tilburg. He combined his ongoing teaching activity with the creation of his own performances and participation in opera, theatre and film. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Civil Merit from the King and Queen of Spain and the Gold Medal of Honour of the Order of Orange-Nassau for his work in disseminating Spanish dance in the Netherlands.
